ABOUT

Save Glendora Schools (SGS) is a growing grassroots effort of Glendora families and citizens uniting together to protect, preserve, and prosper our schools and city! What initially began in backyard gatherings of homes across Glendora, has now become a significant local organized effort. We are comprised of numerous parents, citizens, and family members of various backgrounds and ethnicities who beautifully display unity in diversity around this common cause.

ORIGINS

SGS originated over three years ago, when several Glendora citizens came together with great concern over the morale of teachers and staff, and the large amount of people leaving the district. Over time, these concerns grew and resulted in multiple meetings, emails, and requests to the district leadership. Unfortunately, the district did not listen to the concerns, nor consider them credible, and so they took no action. Yet we knew that as a grassroots effort we needed to be a strong advocate to hold the leadership accountable, to obtain transparency within our children's curriculum, uphold parent's rights, ensure our teachers and staff have the fullest support, and fight for freedom of choice, all while ensuring that the people of Glendora have a voice. After many months of attempting to help them understand our point of view, which included providing examples of what other districts did to address similar concerns and why, it became apparent that the current Board of Education had no interest in addressing any of these issues nor responding to the parents or citizens, and even displayed disdain for any opposing views.

As more parents and citizens became alarmed about the direction of Glendora schools, Save Glendora Schools (SGS) began to grow. Despite the various reasons of what draws Glendorans to get involved with SGS, the common concern that unifies this group/cause is the undeniable desire to hold our district leadership accountable for the state of our schools and future of our children. This is why we have come to identify this effort as, "Save Glendora Schools". We invite you to navigate this website, follow us on social media, and join our email list so that you can see for yourself what we are all about and how we believe that together, Glendorans of all backgrounds, races, ethnicities, and cultures are unifying together for the sake of our schools and city.

For your convenience, we have also identified some additional information below with responses that we hope helps you understand and makes you feel comfortable with getting involved as a Glendora citizen in the local and peaceful democratic process.
